Treading Water Climate Change Game! From Wayland to West Africa, How Climate Change Affects Us All

Want to learn about how to make decisions in the time of Climate Change? Host our Treading Water event. Email us at info@transitionwayland.org

The event starts with a short documentary, “Settled in a Swamp,” about the impact of climate change on people in the West African nation of Senegal, followed by a conversation and interactive game led by international climate experts (and Wayland residents) Pablo Suarez and Janot Mendler de Suarez. Find out why Wayland has more in common with Dhakar, Senegal than you might think.  Read the article in the Town Crier and watch the pictures of the first event.

Show the new Movie, In Transition 2.0

We invite all groups - religious communities, book groups, neighbors and friends,  etc. - to host a screening of the movie In Transition 2.0.  Transition Wayland is featured in it: read more about that here.

In Transition 2.0 is "an inspirational immersion in the Transition movement, gathering stories from around the world of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. You'll hear about communities printing their own money, growing food everywhere, localising their economies and setting up community power stations. It's an idea that has gone viral, a social experiment that is about responding to uncertain times with solutions and optimism. In a world that is awash with gloom, here is a story of hope, ingenuity and the power of growing salads in unexpected places."

We supply a high-definition copy of the film (with screening rights) and we can be on hand to facilitate a conversation about Transition.  Contact us if you're interested.

First showing (prescreening): Feb. 2, 2012, 7-9pm, Senior Center, Wayland Town Building. Read about it here.
