Study/Action Groups research the issues that impact us with the goal of applying the research to our local situation. For instance, the Energy Group studies what does oil dependence means for Wayland, and what Wayland can do in the face of rising prices and decreasing supplies. Other examples for Study Groups are Climate Change, Economy, Food, Water, Waste, Youth, Art, Elders, Community.

Wayland already has a vibrant, hardworking and effective Energy Initiatives Advisory Committee (Link to their Town website). Transition Wayland supports the hard work of the Wayland Energy Initiatives Advisory Committee. They have recently applied to the Metropolitan Area Planning Council’s (MAPC) Local Energy Action Program (LEAP). We are working on three energy projects:
